Outward Bound

We are delighted to have secured a Community Partnership with Outward Bound which will enable graduating Future Leaders to participate in a 21 day course under full scholarship every January. This provides a fabulous kickstart to their transition from the Future Leaders programme into the wide world of tertiary education.

Outward Bound New Zealand’s mission is inspiring personal and social development through value based experiential learning in an outdoor environment. Outward Bound is founded on universal values: Compassion, Greatness, Responsibility and Integrity. These values are mirrored in the four year YWCA Future Leaders Programme, and the Outward Bound experience is the perfect challenge for our girls as they graduate from the programme.

Deciding on future career options is about to become easier for over 100 young Kiwi women as a result of the YWCA Auckland partnership with bulls-eye, a recently developed on-line tool that helps secondary school students work out what they want to do in the future and how to get there.

We are excited to be working with bulls-eye – there are very few tools available to help guide young people in what is a critical decision regarding their future. Interacting with bulls-eye is an engaging and positive experience which will help YWCA Auckland’s Future Leader programme participants to identify their key skills, talents and interests and explore possible career pathways and future job options.”
