This year's theme was Giving Back - Strengthening our Communities.
Ten school groups presented their solutions to an issue in their community, present were their peers, parents, mentors and staff of the YWCA.
The winning team (who will be off to Rotoura for an adventure weekend) was Auckland Girls Grammer, they recognised a need at Kids First Hospital in Manukau; to provide healing toys to the children.
The Far North team came second, focusing their attention on early school leavers with resources to help them make informed choices.
Hilary College came third with their look at the effects of tagging in Otara.
Kelston won the 'Overcoming Obstacles' award, with only two on their team they looked at tagging and graffiti in their community
All of the schools did great presentations, the rest of the schools and their issues were:
Onehunga High: encouraging graffiti artists to find other means of artistic expression
Glenfield College: caring for the elderly in their community
Mt Roskill: ideas for how to get to know our neighbours
Selwyn: fundraising for those affected by the Burmese Cyclone
McAuley High: fighting obesity in their school and suburb
Massey High: Girl Safety - date rape, sexual harassment and spiked drinks
